Random pictures from various times...

After living here for 3 months, I am still finding new flowers that are somehow more brilliant than the last. This is the latest discovery, after a recent rainy morning while drinking a cup of coffee. Stunning.

Flash back to 3rd grade Earth Science now, anyone remember the names of these parts?

Same flower later that day and not quite as damp.

Costa Rica's blue bird, everywhere and loud.

A snail I found in my sink after a recent heavy rainstorm. Cute, little guy, isn't he?

Friends forever. Oh yeah, and these things are everywhere. So great.

One of the cutest father/son duos spotted on the beach.

Some of the most beautiful flowers you will find. This is my latest favorite.

Horseflies or something that looks similar with the exception that they are the size of a your fist. No thanks.

A cool middle of the night moon shot while living in Las Cabinas with our green screen wall.

Oh yeah, so I would take 100 horseflies the size of my fist before I welcomed Charlotte back into our house. This was also in the Cabinas, I guess a downside of having a wall that is screen and living in the jungle. At times you will encounter creatures that must have been prehistoric beasts whose size baffles you. I kid you not, Charlotte was almost the size of my face. While Ana and I kept our cool, we were still blown away when the owner of the apartments laughed at the size and with a mere paper towel picked Charlotte up and did away with her. Costa Ricans have seen it all. As for Ana and I, we had been okay with Charlotte at first, she wasn't bothering anyone. Our only problem was when we woke up in the morning and she was no where to be found...
