First, Joanie and I started at Vista Serena, a quaint little hostel that sat on the hill and to date, one of the most spectacular sunsets in town. Joanie and I stayed there while here in Manuel Antonio, and I returned for a while until I learned of a different kind of place.
Manuel Antonio and the surrounding areas.
The porch of Vista Serena... one of them most welcoming and relaxing spots there.
The reason it is called La Vista Serena... the spectacular view!
Chairs all over the place and flags alike that are created or signed by visitors from all parts of the world.
Next stop were Las Cabinas Pedro Miguel... a little spot off the road a bit and with another cool view. I lived here with Ana, one of the best people I happened to meet in my adventures here. We had the best place EVER. With only a few setbacks, this was a fun month!
Greatest part about this place was our green screen wall. Even after they butchered the beautiful flowers and colors that were originally there it was still an amazing sight and addition.
The picture does not do the view justice.
La piscina.
The view.
The driveway.
After leaving the Cabinas... I looked high and low for an apartment. These adventures took me to some over the top places to some places that had holes in the roof and buckets in the bathroom. Lukily through the help of a few friends I finally found a place that I now call home. It is wonderfully cheap, with functioning roof and furniture, access to a washer and a line to dry and at times INTERNET! WOAH. In other words, a birthday present about a month late. It has turned out to be a great place to live. Mary, the lady that owns all of it couldn't be any nicer or helped me out any more. I can walk everywhere I need to be and feel safe leaving my things behind. In short, I <3 my little one bedroom shack! Strange thought too, this is the first time in my ENTIRE life that I have ever lived truly alone. It is wonderful. Not that I don't miss my roommates like no other, but it is nice at times to truly be left to your own devices. Anyway, enough small talk, here is the current HUMBLE abode.
Home sweet home!
Laundry day sometimes means hanging a line in my room.
My tiny kitchen/bathroom/living room. Ha.
No matter the place, not far from sight have been my peace flags and my traveling Buddha. My suitcase was literally busting at the seams when I left the states, but I am so grateful that these two pieces squeezed in and made the trip. They have brought the exact energy I have needed in this transient phase of my life.
